Jarrod Gunn McQuillan, the owner of Cloud 9 Adventures on the East Coast of Canada, will be joining the Halton Outdoor Club for a presentation and discussion on paddling with confidence in more exposed and challenging waters. This 45-minute interactive presentation will share strategies, tips and tricks for paddlers looking to take on new adventures. A Q&A will follow.

It will be an especially helpful discussion for those that may be looking to undertake camping trips, or seek to play in the more open exposed waters of the Great Lakes, or taking on adventures on Canada’s West & East Coast (or even further afield). Topics covered will include - Types of “Rough Water”, Gear Considerations, Risk Assessment, Safety, as well as Skill Development Strategies. He will also share photos from some epic paddling locations from Atlantic Canada along the way.

More on Jarrod:

Jarrod was born and raised in St. Catharines, Ontario and like many, his early paddling career was from the seat of a canoe. After University, he travelled West where he was exposed to sea kayaking with his partner, Heather. He has made coaching, instruction and guiding his profession and has paddled and coached internationally and now calls Prince Edward Island home. Cloud 9 Adventures operates throughout the Maritime Provinces and Jarrod takes pride in developing a supportive and positive learning environment to help paddlers become more self-reliant in their padding adventures. Jarrod and his wife Heather along with their 2 children own and operate Nature Space Resort & Retreat Centre, which is a four season nature-based wellness resort in St. Peter’s Harbour, PEI.
