Moderate. Natural pathways within park. Some gentle ups and downs. Typical Bruce Trail—Rocky sections!

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Point of interests

The THIRD in a series (12 hikes total) of there and back hikes covering the 83 kms of the Niagara Section of the Bruce Trail.

The third hike will cover the area between the QEW and Woodend C.A. Lots of rocky Bruce Trail sections and a possible Side Trail to the Niagara College Campus. And a chance to scream in the “Screaming Tunnel.”

Possible group outing to Bass Pro Shop or shopping.

REGISTRATION OPENS

Opens on-line 2 weeks prior to the hike and is limited to 20 hikers

WHAT TO BRING

  • Hiking boots or sturdy walking shoes
  • Water, drinks, snacks, and sunscreen.
  • Prepare for Mother Nature!!

COVID CAUTION

Safe distancing will be observed as per Covid protocols

GUIDING NOTES:

HIKE PACE -  Leisure: 3 km/hr or less. Moderate: 3-4 km/hr or Fast: 4-5km/hr. All paces are average and depending on the terrain.

TERRAIN - Easy: mostly flat and usually good footing (i.e. rail trails, Confederation Park, Bay Front Park), Moderate: some hills and/or poor footing (Bruce Trail, Dundas Valley, etc.) and Challenging: steep hills and strenuous footing (Bruce Trail, some trails in Short Hills, Dundas Valley and Red Hill Valley). Please note variations can be expected with weather conditions.
