Sam Lawrence Park parking lot at the top edge of Hamilton Mountain on the west side of Upper Wellington St.

Easy. Mostly a paved treadway

TYPE OF HIKE: 

Loop

GENERAL DESCRIPTION 

We’ll do a loop through the area of wealthy old homes at the bottom of the escarpment. I’d love to know their worth in the present market.

ONLINE REGISTRATION NEEDED

Yes, A must. Leaders appreciate early registration and up to at least 24 hours before the event. Up to 15 participants are welcome. 

CANCELLATION

  • If your plans change, please self-cancel as soon as possible so that other HOC members may take your spot.

  • The club may cancel due to bad weather or an incident that might impact the safety of participants.

Hiking shoes. 

  • Poles if you wish

  • Water

  • Mask

Pub Stop 

A pub stop will be offered if the facility in mind provides outdoor seating. Bring a jacket for cool evenings.

GUIDING NOTES: 

HIKE PACE -  Leisure: 3 km/hr or less. Moderate: 3-4 km/hr or Fast: 4-5km/hr. All paces are average and depending on the terrain. 

TERRAIN - Easy: mostly flat and usually good footing (i.e. rail trails, Confederation Park, Bay Front Park), Moderate: some hills and/or poor footing (Bruce Trail, Dundas Valley, etc.) and Challenging: steep hills and strenuous footing (Bruce Trail, some trails in Short Hills, Dundas Valley and Red Hill Valley). Please note variations can be expected with weather conditions.
