IMPORTANT HOC TRIP RATING INFORMATION AND CANCELLATION |
We can only anticipate what the trip conditions will be prior to the trip; and they are subject to change based on the weather information for that day; therefore, the overall trip rating and the required skills needed to safely attend the trip, may be upgraded on the day of the trip. This eventuality includes the possible cancellation for some or all its participants; or the postponement of a trip for the following day. By signing up for a club trip, the participant assumes the risk that such a cancellation may occur, even as late as on the shoreline.

Important Trip Details |
We will be travelling to the remote area of Temagami and paddling on Lady Evelyn Smoothwater.
We will travel Sunday, August 11 to a booked AirBnB accommodation in New Liskeard and leave early the following morning to drive to the launch point at Mowatts Landing Cottages a ½ hour away.
Parking is not included in the trip fee. Cost is $60 per vehicle for the week.
We will paddle out 27 kms to our campsite. Since we cannot book individual campsites for this trip, paddlers may face the eventuality of having to find another site if the one we want is occupied, or breaking camp one night and possibly moving to another site the following day. (It seldom happens.) As such this trip is rated as a Class C trip.
There is a portage on the route, however, this is taken care of by a portage service at an added cost to be split among the participants. 2 to 3 kayaks are loaded onto a boat trailer and they are brought to the other side. Participants walk the short distance. I understand the cost to be $50 per load each way. Cash only. Not included in the trip fees.
We will set up camp and base our day paddles to different destinations which will include Franks Falls and paddling to Maple Mountain where we will go for a day hike.
