Trip Cost Each Registrant is responsible for booking with Halton Conservation Area to reserve a 3 hour time slot at their indivdual expense (2 weeks in advance) You may choose to book back to back so that you may stay for the duration of the event https://conservationhalton.ca/parks/kelso/

Boat Rental Details We are hosting a “Try me Out Kayak” club event that is run by club members who are bringing their sea kayaks and recreational kayaks for you to try out. It is a great opportunity for you to try a kayak before you buy. There will be a wide variety of kayaks, different manufacturers, models, and lengths. Try out as many kayaks as you like.

In addition, Ontario Sea Kayak Centre and Soleil Sports will also have kayaks available for tryouts and there may be an opportunity for arrangements to buy a kayak.
Come anytime between 10:00am-3:00pm.

If you are considering taking up this amazing sport, (there's nothing like being on the water), we encourage all who are not HOC members to sign up and become members. (cost $75.00 per year)
This gives you full access to Kayaking, Hiking, Cycling, Cross Country Skiing & Snowshoeing.
In regard to Kayaking specifically, becoming a member will allow you to sign up and participate in our signature club event,
The Kayak Rodeo on June 24-25, 2023 at Guelph Lake.
This event gives you access to introductory Basic Skill Lessons (and rentals from Ontario Sea Kayak Centre), along with various dry land sessions covering everything from roof rack systems, appropriate clothing, and safety gear, all led by very enthusiastic Club Volunteers!

Trip Safety Requirements, What to Bring A Safety perimeter will be set up on the water comprised of members who are fully capable of performing assisted rescues. 
All participants are expected to be wearing a PFD at all times while on the water, AND are required to follow the instructions of the members on the water at all times (no exceptions) 
What to Bring - Water, Snacks, clothing suitable for immersion, towel, water shoes, spare clothing.

If you have a PFD (Personal Flotation Device) please bring it!
