HIKES
Three levels of hikes of different distance and duration are offered:
Long hike: 15 km - 4 ½ hr, fast pace
Medium hike: 11 km - 3 hr, moderate pace
Short: 7 km - 2 hr, leisure pace
PACE: Leisurely / Moderate / Fast
Leisurely to fast but generally about 3-4 km/hr
Return Time from Mono to Burlington
Bus will depart at 4:00 pm at the latest. Maybe earlier based on completion of hikes.
TERRAIN:
Easy / Moderate / Challenging
Moderate to challenging based on hike selection
TYPE OF HIKE:
i.e. loop or out and back
All three hikes are LOOPS
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Leave Burlington at 8:30 AM from Guelph Line Carpool Parking area.
Bus will stop at Orangeville Tim Horton’s on the way to Mono. Arrive at Mono Community Centre approx. 10:30 am.
Enjoy the scenic and varied trails of Mono Cliffs Park and the Bruce Trail. We will have lunch on the trail.
The club is renting a room for our comfort which includes washrooms, change rooms, access to water, etc. This room will be available to us for the day.
Bus will be available throughout the day in the parking lot of Mono Cliffs Community Centre

CANCELLATION
Payment in full. No refund unless spot is filled from the waitlist.
All cancellations must be done through the club manager at info@haltonoutdoorclub.ca NOT the trip leader
The club may cancel due to low registration or bad weather that may impact the safety of participants

WHAT TO BRING
SOCIAL
Mono Cliffs Inn might be availalble for snacks and drinks after the hikes, however they are hosting a wedding so you cannot count on getting in. The club has also rented a room in the community centre where we can gather and socialize prior to departing for home.
IMPORTANT COVID REMINDERS
You are encouraged to wear a mask while on the bus unless eating or drinking. The club’s Covid-19 Safety Guidelines will be observed.
GUIDING NOTES:
HIKE PACE - Leisure: 3 km/hr or less. Moderate: 3-4 km/hr or Fast: 4-5km/hr. All paces are average and depending on the terrain.
TERRAIN - Easy: mostly flat and usually good footing (i.e. rail trails, Confederation Park, Bay Front Park), Moderate: some hills and/or poor footing (Bruce Trail, Dundas Valley, etc.) and Challenging: steep hills and strenuous footing (Bruce Trail, some trails in Short Hills, Dundas Valley and Red Hill Valley). Please note variations can be expected with weather conditions.
