GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Point of interests

Finally! Here it is! A series (12 hikes total) of there and back hikes covering the 83 kms of the Niagara Section of the Bruce Trail. We will see trilliums! We will see orchards and vineyards! We will see fall colours!

The first hike will be an easy start with gentle paths and trails in Queenston Heights Park. A taste of typical Bruce Trail with a short distance on the roads.

  If your plans change, please self-cancel as soon as possible so that other HOC members may take your spot.

REGISTRATION OPENS

Opens on-line 2 weeks prior to the hike and is limited to 20 hikers

WHAT TO BRING

  • Hiking boots or sturdy walking shoes
  • Water, drinks, snacks, and sunscreen.
  • Prepare for Mother Nature!!

COVID CAUTION

Safe distancing will be observed as per Covid protocols

GUIDING NOTES:

HIKE PACE -  Leisure: 3 km/hr or less. Moderate: 3-4 km/hr or Fast: 4-5km/hr. All paces are average and depending on the terrain.

TERRAIN - Easy: mostly flat and usually good footing (i.e. rail trails, Confederation Park, Bay Front Park), Moderate: some hills and/or poor footing (Bruce Trail, Dundas Valley, etc.) and Challenging: steep hills and strenuous footing (Bruce Trail, some trails in Short Hills, Dundas Valley and Red Hill Valley). Please note variations can be expected with weather conditions.
