Trip Safety Requirements, What to Bring PFDs must be worn at all times while in your kayak;
A sprayskirt is required unless otherwise specified as a rec boat paddle;
Transport Canada requirements for equipment is also a HOC trip requirement: 15m of buoyant heaving tow line, sound signal device, bailing device, watertight light for ½ hour before sunset or ½ hour after dawn;
Please note the club does not provide equipment. If rentals are noted above, it is at the expense of the club member. Please read the details.

Trip Cost There is no cost to sign up, however, participants are expected to pay the entrance fee of the Kelso Conservation area

Additional Trip Details Come join us for an early evening at Kelso Lake where we will practice many of the fundamental paddle skills to get us ready for the trips and lessons upcoming in the year.
Several of the Paddle Committee members will be present to share tips and tricks with anyone interested.
At the end of the session we will practice our wet exits, assisted, and unassisted re-entries so you can check that off for the season.
