DESCRIPTION

Aug 6th - Numerous street crossings & some busy on-road riding to start. Paved & flat gravel trails along Welland Canal & Friendship Trail for majority of the ride.

Aug 7th -Paved trail, a couple of steep hills back along the Friendship & Welland Canal trails, then along streets with numerous street crossings & some busy on-road riding at the end of ride.

MEETING PLACE & TIME

Aug 6th - 2 options:

1) Take the Toronto-Niagara Seasonal GO train service from Burlington GO station (2102 Fairview St.; free overnight parking). Meet at 9:15am on westbound platform just east of the accessibility car raised platform to load onto 3 dedicated bike coaches. Train leaves at 9:35 am. Check schedule for other station options, including Union, Exhibition, Port Credit and Oakville (only). Train arrives in St. Catharines at 10:30am. Pre-purchase $15 weekend GO travel pass; no extra charge for bikes. 

2) Drive to St. Catharines train station, 5 Great Western St, meeting at 10:30 am. Free overnight parking. Depart for the ride at 10:45am.

Aug 7th -Haven Motel, 215 Garrison Rd, Fort Erie. Start time approximately 9:30am to catch 3:40pm GO train in St Catharines.

START POINT

St Catharines train station to Fort Erie. Overnight in Fort Erie returning the next day. 

REGISTRATION REQUIRED

Yes. It’s important. Leaders appreciate early registration but you can register at the last minute. Trip leaders will be able to email you with updates and last minute changes.

EXTRAS

Aug 6th Saddle bags/pannier or small knapsack for overnight stay.

Book the Haven Motel or Knights Inn or Comfort Inn Fort Erie before registering for the ride to secure limited accommodations. Check cancellation policies first.

Bring snacks, lunch and extra water, electrolytes for ride. Dinner in Fort Erie on your own. 

Aug 7th Breakfast in Fort Erie on your own. We stop for lunch & snacks so bring both along with extra water
