January Mid-Week Getaway – Huntsville

This Mid-Week Getaway allows us two days of skiing and snowshoeing at Arrowhead Provincial Park, one of our favourite destinations. Our one-night stay will be nearby at the Holiday Inn Express in Huntsville.

Please Note: It is strongly recommended that members wear a mask while seated on the bus and while getting on and off the bus. Masking is also strongly recommended while loading gear on and off the bus storage area.

Our Itinerary

Wednesday, January 11th- We will depart Burlington at 8:00 a.m. from the Guelph Line Carpool Parking area on the north side of the QEW at Guelph Line where overnight parking is free. Guelph Line Carpool Parking - Google Maps Our coach bus will take us to the Huntsville area where we will spend the afternoon at Arrowhead Provincial Park.  Arrowhead has 28 kms of beautifully groomed ski trails and 8 km of snowshoe trails, as well as a 1 km ice skating loop through the forest. Our day on the trails will end at 4:00 pm., when we will drive to the Holiday Inn in Huntsville for our overnight stay.

Thursday, January 12th – We will head back to Arrowhead at 9:00 a.m. to enjoy the trails at Arrowhead for a second day. Our departure will be at 3:00 pm, for an estimated arrival back in Burlington of 6:00 p.m.

Cost: The cost per person is $191.00 (double occupancy) or $269.00 (single occupancy).

Accommodation:  The Holiday Inn Express in Huntsville will be under renovation during our one-night stay, but we have been assured the following amenities will be available. Rooms are equipped with a mini-fridge, microwave, and a Keurig machine. A breakfast will be included with your stay. For dinner, some restaurants (dine in or take-out) are within walking distance. The hotel is also close to grocery stores in order to purchase snacks and food for lunches.

  • Taxes and most gratuities

Exclusions:

  • lunches (bring/buy/make your own)
  • one dinner
  •  room cleaning gratuities

Cancellation Policy:  You may cancel your trip and expect a full refund, minus a $25.00 processing fee (per application), up until December 10, 2022.  After that date, you will be responsible for any costs that the Club incurs on your behalf.  This could include costs for transportation, accommodation, meal, leader subsidy, etc.  If you cancel after the cancellation date, we will attempt to find a replacement from the wait list; however, there are no guarantees.

If the trip is cancelled by the club at any point, you will be given a full refund.

If the trip experiences inclement weather that interferes with our planned activities, the trip will NOT be cancelled. Leaders will try to find suitable alternative activities.

While in progress, if the trip experiences unexpected circumstances that are beyond the control of the Club and causes changes to the trip itinerary that result in unexpected expenses, individual members are responsible for any extra expenses that may be incurred.
