KAYAK MAINTENANCE DAY

Please register for this maintenance separately from the paddle.
The plan for this maintenance event is to offer assistance/advice to check/change deck lines, bungees, hatch covers, gelcoat repairs, tightening hardware, etc. Any of these supplies/hardware can be purchased online or from a kayak dealer/retail store. Things like deck lines and bungees don't necessarily have to be specific to your brand of kayak.
The other maintenance job that we will be doing is polishing and waxing our boats to get them shining like new.
THINGS WE WILL SUPPLY
Assortment of tools, eg. Allen keys, screwdrivers.
Sawhorses and workmate tables.
Advice
THINGS YOU WILL NEED TO BRING
A clean, washed boat.
Replacement deck lines or bungees if required.
If you have a fiberglass boat bring polishing compound. Canadian Tire sells a few different fiberglass boat polishing compounds. Marinas would also sell this.
If you have any scratches in the gelcoat of your fiberglass marinas sell gelcoat repair kits.
Wax, you don’t necessarily have to have a wax specifically for boats. A good car wax is ok. I prefer a paste wax in a can but a liquid is ok.
If you have a thermoform or plastic boat then just the wax is good.
Soft rags.
A cordless drill with a buffing attachment is helpful.
ELBOW GREASE, there is no power supply (unless you bring a cordless buffer or drill) so you will be wax on, wax off like the karate kid.
