Jack Pine Paddle Outfitters, 203-5112 52nd Street Yellowknife NT 867-445-4512

Outfitter and his guides live and have grown up in NWT and have deep roots with the rivers and lakes.

Great Slave Lake is Big! We will be exploring the North Arm which is made up of ancient stone. The route takes us 130km through numerous bays and islands.

We will see many birds, maybe catch a glimpse of a bear, moose, bison or wolves. No guarantees but the north arm lies directly in the magnetic "Aurora Belt" which means it is one of the most reliable places to see the northern lights. We will move camp sites every night, weather permitting, and will be paddling approx 18 km each day.

Daily temperatures in July average around a high of 20C and a low of 10C.

Trip proposal is based on 7 days of kayaking and camping. You can fish, hike, swim, or just relax after each day of kayaking. This is beginner/intermediate, basic skills and some camping experience required.

Option of staying in Yellowknife for a few days after the trip to do some exploring at your own cost.
