2020 KAYAK POOL SESSIONS

Open invitation to all Halton Outdoor Club members who would like to learn to kayak in the comfort of a warm pool.

For safety reasons, all participants in the club paddling activities are required to have completed a lesson which included a wet exit and rescue during the current year. 
For extended trips, a practise or lesson must have been completed during the current year.
All paddlers are encouraged to learn rescue skills and practise on a regular basis.

Ontario Sea Kayak Centre will provide Paddle Canada certified instructors for all clinics.  

New for 2020 , there will be two types of pool clinics:

1) BEGINNER safety and rescue skills : 1hr 45 mins
- intro to kayak ,  different types of kayaks and parts of a kayak, entering and exiting the kayak, wet-exit and assisted rescue. 

2) INTERMEDIATE safety and rescue skills : 1hr 45 mins
- self-rescue with a paddle float, scramble rescue and a review of the assisted rescue

Boat and all gear will be provided for all clinics, cost included.
If you own your boat, recommend that you use it during the clinics.

COST: $100.00 + hst = $113.00

SPOTS: 8 per session max.

 2020 Dates:  

All clinics will be held on Fridays, 2:00pm-3:45pm,
Aldershot Pool, 50 Fairwood Place W, Burlington 

  • March 27  Beginner session
  • April 24    Beginner session
  • May 8       Intermediate session

Registration opens: March 6, 2020.

To register, using credit card on HOC website only. Cancellation must be made by email to Club Manager 7 days prior to clinic. A wait list will be created for all clinics.
