COME JOIN THE PARADE!

Santa Claus is coming to town and this year the Halton Outdoor Club will be joining the jolly fellow in Burlington's annual parade.
The Sunday, December 1st event draws thousands of people so it will be an excellent opportunity for us to increase the public’s awareness of what we do and possibly increase our membership.
We are looking for 15 to 20 enthusiastic people to join in the fun parade which will start at Central Library and end at the intersection of Brant Street and Blairholm Avenue. The parade will start at 2 p.m. and the route is 3 kilometres.
Your part is to dress festively (green or red jackets or sweaters is fine) and wear a Santa Claus hat and any other Christmas attire you like. We will have a banner that a few people can carry and the rest of the participants can choose to either walk a bike, carry snowshoes, cross country skis, hiking poles, and/or a backpack, or, if you’re feeling creative, you could make a small cardboard replica of a kayak to wear. This way all elements of the club will be represented.
This will be a super fun event that we are hoping will become an annual event. Volunteers will be part of an all-important kick-off group that helps to make it a success.
After the parade, we will head to a “to-be-decided” restaurant/pub to celebrate.
