Trip Safety Requirements PFDs must be worn at all times while in your kayak;
A sprayskirt is required unless otherwise specified as a rec boat paddle;
Transport Canada requirements for equipment is also a HOC trip requirement: 15m of buoyant heaving tow line, sound signal device, bailing device, watertight light for ½ hour before sunset or ½ hour after dawn;
Wet exit practice (formally called wet exit lesson) within the last 12 months in the current kayak that you are using for a trip;
Kayak with sealed fore and aft bulkhead compartments unless specified as a rec boat paddle;
A minimum of one spare paddle per 2 participants

Trip Details We have three campsites in the Bon Echo Provincial Park
This will be a weekend trip, where we aim to explore two separate inland lakes: Upper Mazinaw and Lower Mazinaw in Bon Echo PP. Saturday will be dedicated to exploring the Upper Mazinaw, the longest of the two. Sunday will be dedicated to exploring the Lower Mazinaw, a shorter paddle ending Marbel Lake. 4 hours total paddle time .

Arrival to set up camp: Please arrive after 2:00pm on Friday, August 19
Departure from park : Approximately 3:00pm Sunday, August 21

Accommodations:
Bon Echo Provincial Park - three tents per site , one person per tent, three sites.

Meals: Self Reliant except Saturday Dinner _ Group Dinner offsite (TBC)
Friday night - dinner on your own.
Saturday - bring your own breakfast and lunch supplies. Breakfast will be on your own before departure. Lunch will be during the trip at lakeside - bring your own supplies and pack for trip. Pack your own snacks for trip. Group dinner at a local restaurant TBC.on Saturday night.
Sunday - bring your own breakfast and lunch supplies. Breakfast will be on your own before departure. Lunch will be during the trip at lakeside - bring your own supplies and pack for trip.

Additional Notes:
A pre-trip planning meeting will be scheduled with registered participants 2 weeks prior to trip to go over any questions and details.
There will be no bathroom facilities while on the lakes. Must be comfortable using the 'bush' if nature calls during the paddles.
