Three Waterfalls Hike: Buttermilk, Albion Falls and Felker’s Falls.
Start Time: Meet at 9:15 for 9:30 a.m. start.
Location: Parking Lot at Mohawk 4 Ice Centre; 710 Mountain Brow Blvd., Hamilton (park your vehicle closest to Mountain Brow Blvd., to the right as you enter)
Terrain: Some long and short hills. We are hiking up and down the escarpment twice. Elevation gain is 170 meters. Typical Bruce Trail with some rugged areas and tricky footing i.e. roots and rocks. Some flat smooth sections.
Pace/Duration: Moderate pace 3-4 kms per hour. Allow approximately 3 – 3.5 hours. Allow more time in wet conditions.
Distance: 10 kms.
Description: The route involves one loop section and a section of “out and back”, all on the Bruce Trail. We will descend into the Red Hill Valley and back up, in both directions. If it is not too busy, we will view three different waterfalls.
Notes: Wear supportive hiking boots with a good tread, hiking poles will be useful, bring waterproof raingear, and dress in layers. Carry water, snacks, hand sanitizer and a mask.
