2024 Spring Information Fair
Sunday June 14. Waterdown Smokey Hollow
Start time : 10:00 AM
Distance : 10 km approx.
Pace : Moderate, average 3 km/hour
Terrain : Moderate with strenuous, hilly and poor footing in some sections.
Meeting Place: Kerncliff Park, second parking lot via Kerns Rd.
Hike Description : This is a there and back hike that will take us to the famous Smokey Hollow and Great Falls. We will start the hike following The Kerncliff Park Access blue trail turning right in to The Bruce Trail. In this section of the trail you will enjoy a scenic views of Burlington and the lake, wooded areas and relax hiking fairly flat and easy terrain. The most beautiful but rugged section is at Smokey Hollow where we will go down to the Grindstone Creek following rough man-made stairs. We will start our way back to the car following Waterdown Rd Trail on your left, cross at Waterdown Rd and turning into McNally Side Trail. Bring hiking poles and wear your hiking boots. You will be rewarded with a great hike!
