2024 Spring Information Fair
Saturday June 13. Enjoy Niagara Hikes
Time : 9:30am.
Location : Grimsby, Beamer Conservation Area
Pace : brisk, 4-5 km per hour
Distance : 3 hours +/-
Terrain : lots of up and down, some loose rocks underfoot
Meeting Place : Park Road South and Ridge Road East, Grimsby. Park on the wide shoulder on Park Road, south of Ridge. Exit the QEW at Bartlett Avenue, Grimsby. Turn right on the South Service Road and then left on Bartlett Avenue, driving toward the escarpment. Turn right at Main Street East. Make a quick left onto Park Road South. Drive up the escarpment. Park Road will cross Ridge Road East at the top. Go through the intersection and park on the shoulder where we are meeting.
Description : This is a more challenging hike. We will make our way along the Bruce Trail from Park Road to Beamer Conservation Area and the point. There is a great view of the peninsula from the point. After visiting Beamer Falls we will walk back along rural Ridge Road. Bring water and snacks. Wear hiking boots. Long pants are recommended. Dress for the weather considering sun exposure and remembering that there could be bugs and ticks in the woods. A lunch stop in Grimsby at the Judge and Jester or Station One is an option following the hike.
