2024 Spring Information Fair
Saturday, November 30, El Camino Magnifico, A Bruce Trail End-to-End: Hike 10
General Location: The escarpment lands of Waterdown and Burlington in the Iroquoia section.
Start Time: The meeting time is 9:00 but aim for 8:45 a.m.
Meeting Place: Roadside parking beside the Bruce Trail fence stile on the west side of Guelph Line 1.5 km north of Dundas St. (Hwy.5). We'll car pool to a location in Waterdown and hike back. Once you register for the hike and I see your name online, I'll e-mail you more detailed directions.
Type of Hike, Length, Duration, and Pace: A 15 km, 4+ hr. linear hike at 3-4 km per hr.
Terrain: Some parts level and easy but also a 10 km-stretch with short hills and tricky footing.
Overview: Most of the hike will be in forested lands following the line of the escarpment.
Requirements: Participants must be HOC members and must register for each hike of the end-to-end series. Wear hiking boots and clothing suitable for the weather. and bring snack, lunch, and water.
Voluntary Social: Gather at a nearby eatery after the hike to celebrate the end of the 2019 hikes with drink, food and fine conversation.
